exchange guidelines
So, because every time I sign up for exchanges I forget half the details, I decided it might finally be the time to write up a post like this.
CHARACTERS AND PAIRINGS
Note I always put characters in a pairing alphabetically, so it has nothing at all to do with any top/bottom issues.
Generally: I enjoy almost any character or pairing. My preference of the day lies where the author's strength is - you've got to convince me with your vision, and I'm gonna be pretty sure to like it. Do leave off Draco, Neville, Ginny and Ron though, if possible, but even for those there are rare exceptions. No Remus/Sirius except if in a threesome, and absolutely no Harry/Draco at all. Canon pairings as background or part of threesome, not of themselves (unless noted otherwise).
Gen: Black family all the way. Gen about Narcissa, Bellatrix, Regulus and/or Sirius will always get you points with me. Remus and Severus I also enjoy, as well as Fenrir.

WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY
Atmosphere/content: Generally, I like intensity. I like emotions. I like drama and angst. I like conflict and tension. I like punch-in-the-gut endings. I like canon-compliant fic that takes canon events and canon relationships and canon character deaths into account and deals with all of it. I prefer character-driven fic over plot-driven fic, and over kink-centric fic for the sake of kink. I don't mind violence.
For pairing-centric works, I like anything from angsty romance up to actual death scenarios. AU settings are just as acceptable as fully canon-compliant settings - from minimal changes (you don't have to give me an explanation why a certain character survived OotP or DH or what) to full-blown non-magical AU. I like there to be a definite emotional connection between the persons in the pairing, but it doesn't need to be a happy ending. On the other end of the spectrum, I like loving, sensual schmoop just as much, and hurt/comfort even with an emphasis on the comfort. With the hurt/comfort, if the hurt is physical, it should never ever have been caused by the person to provide comfort, however. If not an adulterous pairing, I like characters on their way to finding an established relationship, and I like equality in the relationship. I adore plot elements like the exploration of the many layers of trust and fidelity and betrayal and revenge, love triangles, general desperation, unrequited/unhappy/problematic love (which includes incest, definitely), something with a sense of it's-so-wrong-but-I-want-it-anyway. For cross-gen pairings, I'd like the younger of the pairing to be at least a seventh year - yes, this means I do not at all mind student/teacher fic. Otherwise I have no problem with teenage sexuality. With Remus, I adore it if his lycanthropy influences him.
I'm picky with non-con and dub-con, so it's probably best not to go there.
I'm also very choosy about children, so it's best to keep them out (aside from very minor role), along with anything related to child birth. Pregnancy is acceptable as long as it's a canon-compliant one and there's no discussion of nursing.

No Harry/Draco at all, ever. No epilogue kids unless absolutely necessary to the story, as I don't know what to do with them unless their name is Teddy.
Content: fluffy fluff fluff complete with declarations of love, crack, humour, mpreg. OOCness and character bashing.
Squicks: cross-dressing, spanking, watersports, bestiality, gender-bending and gender-fuck, necrophilia, vomit, feces. I'd rather not have formal D/s dynamics. No humiliation, and keep the awkwardness down as well, please.
