so, what's going on around here?
I feel so weirdly out of place around here. What is even happening in HP fandom right about now? Which fests are going to happen this year? All you guys are welcome to talk to me, too, tell me how you've been faring! 'cause it's an insane task to try and read all your journals, my God. Ain't I lazy? :P

No, but seriously, I've just done 161 matches for spn_j2_xmas, which was a huuuge task. I can't even stretch that enough. I was having trouble getting the matches done for some reason; it took me 25 hours to do them. Last year, with 130 participants, it took me only 18 hours. I'm currently dealing with the backlash of sending the assignments out; both my co-mods are on vacation. Which is okay, just a lot to do ;)

Next week I'm going to start uni, finally. I'm still feeling a little underwhelmed by it all, but it'll come as soon as I start making contact with people there. I'm actually going to try to get into a creative writing class in English, which is why -

I'm kickstarting the writing! I'm currently working on a super-dark piece of Snupin which I started back in the day for the Dark Side of Snupin Challenge. I hadn't written much of it, so that's good; I don't actually have to work on something from scratch (which I would find difficult right now), but it's not as if I'm not adding anything to the story. I only had like 400 words of it, and since I don't know what I actually wanted to do with it, I can just let the muse run free. It feels so good, too!!! Man, I missed writing, so so much. I'm going to do mini_nanowrimo this year again, with a commitment of 100 words. We'll see if I can manage - but they say third time's the charm, right? :P

Hi Master! *clings* Ha, I totally wouldn't have recognised you, though someone cuddling the puppy always points in one direction - Englang. Nnngh I miss the place. I want to go baaaaack! But I probably can't spend my year there starting in 2010, I'll have to wait until 2011. If I'm unlucky :(

Uni officially starts Monday. As I said, as of yet I'm feeling underwhelmed, but it'll come, it'll come. It's just that I don't like adjusting to new situations, no I don't. *wry smile*

Wah! Then again, I'm in Japan half of 2010, so... However... when are you on holiday from uni? I'll send you a plane ticket so we can meet up some time before Christmas - I won't wait a full year until I can see you again!

You'll manage beautifully, darling. Uni is - no matter the underwhelming - filled with bright and clever people - and you are smart, sweet and very, very clever. You'll do fine. Just do your thing and sod the rest.

Is it sure you're going to Japan? I think you mentioned March at some point, if I remember correctly? Do you know specifics already?

You're awesome, you know that? Don't make me miss you! ♥ But I couldn't possibly. I have two weeks off, from just before Christmas up until my birthday (Jan 3), but also my best friend, who is living in France for some months, comes back to Berlin for exactly those two weeks, and she will kill me if I'm not there. Um. Maybe we could aim for meeting up in mid-February? How's that sound? Though a few days over New Year's in London would be fucking awesome... And if I'm not there for three days or so she won't stab me in the back, now will she? Idk, I'll have to see, as always it comes down to the finances. I don't see it happening just yet, but... where there's a will, there's a way, as we Germans say, eh?

Thank you for your vote of confidence, ego boosting is always good! :P

	clings Maybe a week-end? If you leave early on Friday and go back on Monday morning? I'll book a twin bedroom anyway, so it's just... the time... March it is, at least if everything is going as planned. And I won't be back until August. New Year in London sounds fabulous. If we can't do it now, then we'll do it next year! From when till when are you going to be in London? I've been looking at prices for the New Year (Dec 28/29 - Jan 1/2), but it won't be less than 150€, which I surely can't afford now. Eeeeeeh this sucks, I shouldn't have thought about it! Especially since I'm going to visit my friend in France in February/March or something. Now I can't sit in my chair, I'm so hyped and trying to figure out how to do things and stuff, wah!

	Nonono... we can't have that! I think I might go sometimes in November, depending on Ryanair prices. And in December, maybe, for Christmas shopping, again depending on the prices. 150 EU??? They surely are insane! (Reply to this) (Parent)
