Accio 2008
I actually thought I'd attend Accio 2008, but I just saw the rumours confirmed: IT'S EXPENSIVE. I don't have 300 pounds (= 430€!) just for registration and lodgings. I mean, I have flights to pay for, and food and alcoholic beverages. And I don't think I only want to stay for the duration of the conference - after all I'm flying in from Germany, and I'd like to get to know the surroundings a little. I want it to be a holiday.

I'd poll, but I still don't have a paid account (shame on me!). So tell me: what are you, who are thinking about attending, going to do? I'm thinking maybe I'll just get a room and party with you lot :D Though [info]shiny_crystal said she perhaps won't go, which means I'd have to find a roommate as well.

Thoughts?

Just a heads up that there *might* be another solution than Accio... there *might* be another fandom arrangement in London the week before...

*is sikkritive*

I'm really torn about Accio. First, there's no way in hell I'm paying €430 for registration and lodgings. Also, staying at the conference directly, well, if it's only possible during the conference, no, I agree, I'd want to stay longer. Oxford is beautiful after all. So, definitely not attending the conference.

As for going to Oxford, it's tempting. I've been there and love the city, however I'm in doubt as to whether I'd want to spend a whole holiday there. I'm more the type for going to London and having a day in Oxford, because Oxford being nice as it is, I just love London way too much ;)
Additionally, I'll have loads of exams coming up around that time, since my semester finishes 19th July. Depends also on what my friends over there are doing because I really want to meet them as well, but chances are they'll be at their respective homes over said summer.
... those are the problems of modern life and international communication, right? When do I fly where? Lol.

Bottom line, I do want to go to England. It's tempting to accompany you to Oxford (as long as we at least spend one day in London), but I really can't book a week's holiday without knowing when my exams will be. And heavens know when I'll be told about that. Sorry :(

Yeah, figuring things out is not funny. BUT: *points up to Lysa's comment* Might be a solution, if it's gonna happen, no?

*sigh* We'll figure out what to do when and how... I'm sure of it!

Or not, if it's the week before, if it interferes with the end of your semester. Hmmm.

Yep, I've read the comment, but chances are I can't arrange anything the week before ... I suppose I'll have to wait and see *sigh*
