okay, so i'm apparently doing it, too
Meme time!

10 Signs You Are Reading A Story By Envinyatar

1. There is little to no direct dialogue. Sometimes it's indirect. (Fail, I know.)

2. Instead, there is silence and meaningful glances and instinctively knowing what the other wants.

3. There is little in the form of detailed visual descriptions, be it characters or surroundings.

4. Instead, there is a lot of thinking. Angsting. Emotional conflicts. Intense focus on the chatacter telling the story with little room for anyone else.

5. There is a lot of present tense. Sometimes second person POV. If there is past tense, there will be voice over or a "framing" beginning and ending in present tense. And there will be run-on sentences.

6. There is a strict POV. No switching even in different scenes within a fic.

7. Sex usually isn't all that important. It's either found after some of the emotional conflict is solved or used to express said emotional conflict. It is rarely very kinky or very graphic.

8. If we are talking first war generation, there will be Severus and/or Sirius and/or Remus and/or, lately, Narcissa. Sometimes Lily or James.

9. If we are talking second war generation, there will be Hermione and/or Harry. Sometimes Draco or Theodore.

10. Canon pairings are used to bounce off new pairings, be it in the form of grief because of the beloved one's death, or unhappiness within the relationship and resulting cheating.

11. A set of (living) secondary characters does usually appear off-screen, if at all.

(Okay, so I said there'd be ten signs, but these are more like, a bazillion. Heh. And there are still things missing...)

[repost because apparently my day has been SO crappy I can't even manage simple HTML anymore *headdesk*]

Haha, these are hilarious <3 have read several of them so far and loved all, it's always fun to see authors reflect on their work. Oh, and predictable!Jana HAS to point out that
9. If we are talking second war generation, there will be Hermione and/or Harry. Sometimes Draco or Theodore.</i>
IS MADE OF WIN!! *g*

On a seperate note, I added you on AIM but you never seem to be online. Perhaps we just miss each other constantly. My nick's delashiny at any rate.
On a second seperate note, what about this weekend? I'm basically free, apart from this massive mountain range of work from uni, but I don't fancy sitting at home learning the entire weekend, so are you free either Friday or Saturday? ^^ Best way to reach me then is via e-mail ^^

Yeah, it's definitely a lot of fun... *g* To your pointing out #9: let's remember that I don't write second war generation all that often, eh? :D (And the Draco is totally your fault anyway.)

Er, haven't been online a lot lately due to RL (busy and shitty and stuff). In constant tiredness chatting is the last thing on my mind, though I definitely wanted to call you because of Saturday - Friday is totally packed already. I have time Saturday evening - how's it looking? I need to catch the Grey's Anatomy S3 finale around... 4PM, I think? And I can't stay away too late because my uncle's schizophrenia couldn't be treated by meds anymore, and he's in hospital. I'll go visit him on Sunday. Anyway, what about the reading thing in Kesselhaus? *planless (:D)* asdfghj I love Englishising German words :D

I should consider doing it as well, but I don't think I can come up with 10 points XD
I know, but still, the point that you mention it is awesome!

Ugh, sounds unpleasant. Join the club about busy and shitty RL and constant tiredness (*yawn*), at any rate. Sorry to hear about your uncle, I hope he'll get better *hugs*
Saturday evening's fine! I suppose you mean Kantinenlesen, which I told you about last week? Starts 8.00 pm, entrance around 7.30 pm, costs, as far as I know, €5. Totally worth it, though. Don't know how long it lasts, but it shouldn't be too long, maybe till 10.00 pm, 10.30 pm max. I'd love to go, what do you think?
LOL! There has to be an award for the best German-English-mix-words, there just has to be, and you'd totally win it with 'planless'. Lol!

Right, work. I am going to shut down my laptop after I've replied to this and learn some Czech. No really! *whines* XD

Hm, how about 7.15 pm Eberswalder Straße, the Tram station? Should make it in time and get comfortable seats as well. Except if you want to meet up earlier to have a chat, I'm free from 5.00 pm onwards, so you could come over to mine, it's up to you!

*goes to revise declinations of d00m*

Sounds great!
My grandfather should've dumped the boxes with my old books by then ... provided I can reach my mum via phone and tell her my bell's still not working. Yay, boxes everywhere. Really should call the landlady because of cellar space. And go to bed now because I actually had to look up (!!) the word for 'Klingel' *headdesks various times*
Um yeah. Bell's not working, most of the times, do you still have no mobile phone? Otherwise, call me from your landline when you're leaving the house and I'll be waiting at my door at your estimated arriving time ^^

... I'm really not making sense, am I? Ok, bed. Now. See you tomorrow *hugs*

And all your stories are set in the dungeons of Hogwarts or in Malfoy manner.

That's true, a lot of them are... *sigh* Comes from the characters I'm writing, I guess. And you shall not forget Grimmauld Place, even though the amount of the stories set there has lessened somewhat (meaning: I need to write more Sirius!) But at least that's no give-away for the fest stories, because they interestingly aren't. Heh.

And I only seem to be able to write longish sentences with lots of "as" and "and" in them.
