go leave lovely comments!
My [info]wizard_love gift has been posted, and it's a super-hot piece of art by a mystery artist indeed *g*

Wicked Game (Severus/Tonks, NC-17). I simply adore the setting and the kind of story it tells. *flails*

Incidentally this is my second year of participation in w_l and my second year I received art. Not that I mind, heh!

That is FABULOUS! I've been hankering for fic along the lines of that scenario, since DH. (If not wedding!day, then at least some sort of angry non-con Snape/Tonks, based on Snape/Lupin. Hm. Maybe I'll have to write it myself. :)

Anyway, lucky you!

Ain't I? *dances*

I actually got a plotbunny along the lines of the art on Sunday or Monday night. Incidentally I don't believe in incident, which means I actually do have something in the works for this art already. *g* But 'tis the time of deadlines, so it might take me some time to actually finish this fic...

What can I feed you to encourage you to write the scenario you have in mind? *puppy eyes*

I also need a Tonks icon.

Tonks icons are hard to come by! I can't remember where I got this one, but I know I was looking for one forever. :(

Write it!! Wheee!!

I have a vaguely-related but also different plot bunny on the brain - have had since before Christmas, gah - that I need to write. Might twist it to fit the May themes at [info]daily_deviant for my next posting date there, we shall see... :)

I shall go look for one when I am not supposed to sleep. Whee. I am decidedly unhappy about having to go to bed since this is the time when the muse goes all "OMG write right now!!1!ONE!" *head...covers?*

Anyway. Aha. *nods* I understand. vaguely-related but also different plot bunny, heh. And d_d's themes post got set to f-only so I can't even look at the themes to get an idea of what might roll around in April/May, damn. What can I say? I'm nosy. :)

Ah, yes, they used to be public, but that only led to random passers-by coming and questioning them before members and mods had a chance to discuss whether there might be problems with any of them. So now we keep it locked, discuss them, and go off to write/draw. :) But I can tell you that the May theme I'm thinking of using is simply 'fellatio', which is nice because it should fit the bunny I already have, without a problem. :)

I've adored the art since it first came in. I'm not that big on Snape sex, but...mmmm it's hot. I'm looking forward to any fic that gets written based on the art. You're very lucky.

And if you don't want art as a gift at w-l, you can ask for just fic. :) I usually do the assignments based on who wants something absolutely first, then the people who are more flexible get distributed elsewhere.

I don't only love the mystery artist, but I love you too for handing out those assignments and being so patient and running this all and, y'know. So on :D

asdfghjkl no, no, I'm not complaining at all! I just thought it funny, is all, because I usually say "fic" and w_l was the first fest in a long time where I put either, and promptly I got art. Gah, do not understand my comment on this as criticism! It so is not! I'm just someone who randomly comments on stuff like that.

Oh, I love the mystery artist too. I've never been lucky enough to get a gift from her at an exchange and I keep getting too shy to ask for a commissioned piece, but she's fabulous. Thanks so much -- I'm glad you're enjoying the fest. I'm pretty happy that so far we've gotten no complaints about gifts, had very few dropouts/deadbeats or problems with participants. other than the last five people pending, gah!.

I didn't think it was a complaint -- just saying that's how it's happened. I usually ask for art myself, although I asked for fic this year at [info]smutty_claus and really won the lottery! *looks at [info]snegurochka_lee*

I feel sorry for my Springsmut recipient though. My offering is just...gah. Killing me.

Still five people pending this late in the game? o_O not good. I hope everything works out with them and if you need a pinch, I have way too many plotbunnies that need to get used up. I promise I can be quick.

I keep getting too shy to ask for just art at an exchange. I don't know why, but I don't feel art and fic are equivalent at all - I keep thinking that writing isn't anything special, in a way, but art... for me, with no artistic talent in that direction at all, it's something from another star. (Is that only a German saying or does it work in English too?) What? I have complexes about my writing, why do you ask? ;) But as long as I get art when I say "either" in an exchange, everything's working out alright, no? *g*

Whoa, you're participating in springsmut on top of managing w_l? My respect :D

Yeah. Four of whom are friends/flisters. In one case, there's a very good chance it cost me a friendship. Hopefully everything will work out -- we've still got at least another week's worth of stuff to post! (And yes, I will ask for a pinch hit if I need it -- I'll know this weekend)

I used to be shy about asking for art in exchanges but I love art, no one ever just gifts me art (other than the fabulous Hill who is no longer in fandom) and I can't afford to commission that much stuff. So I ask for art. Plus I've found it's alot harder to disappoint me with artwork than it is with fic -- I've been fairly lucky with the gift fic I've received too but every once in a while, I've gotten really burned. So the art makes me happier. You shouldn't have complexes bout your writing though -- I think you're brilliant!

Luckily, I have friends in high places at springsmut so I have been able to work on my fic even though they're already posting. Of course, one of the mods knows just where to hunt me down and kill me if I should fail to turn anything in. I've been writing diligently for weeks -- it's just a very big thing and taking forever. I also have a wonderful co-mod in [info]katesque so it's not all on my shoulders. :)

It's like a friendship in a work environment where one person is the boss of another: kind of difficult when chains need to get yanked, I imagine. It shouldn't result in friendships dying, though :(

Btw, do you have an estimate date on when the reveals will go up? I'd just like to know so I can think of how to arrange posting all the stories that I have in queue. Don't want to flood the list and all that *g*

Well, if I get gifted with bad fic it's easier to overlook for me than it is with art. Don't ask me why - the logic behind those feelings eludes me *g* But maybe I'll ask for art in the next exchange...? After all getting art often means getting hit by a plotbunny to go along with said art. Hmmm.

one of the mods knows just where to hunt me down and kill me if I should fail to turn anything in

Haha, that's just the motivation you need, eh? You don't know how many times I just wanted to delete my w_l fic and say "Sorry, I BLOODY CAN'T," but I didn't because, well, I didn't want to get hunted down. The "taking forever" part I know very well though *g*

As someone who natters away with the mystery artist many nights a week and has seen first-hand what goes into her commissions, I can tell you three things:

1. Worth. Every. Penny. She works hard, goes for perfection and the end results are always spectacular. The pieces posted online that aren't high-res are not doing the piece justice.

2. Every Penny Squeezed - She could be charging soooo much more.

3. Nice As Can Be - She's very approachable and flexible, shows you sketches along the way, and takes all pairings and moods.

Really, if you've been wanting a piece from her, ask anytime. She's taking some quick and dirty commissions right now for fun and some helpful cash, but she works through her list steadily and has never reached a point where she felt she had to close her commissions.

So, no more being shy! *HUGS*

love, not her pimp, really, lore ~_^

LOL Oh, I know how good her work is. I've fangirled her for forever. Like I said, I'm just ridiculously shy. I know she's very reasonable too -- and believe me, knowing that she shows sketches etc during the process is very very helpful (I got burnt by a very big name artist a few years ago -- she hadn't heard from me due to my cable being out and then went ahead and did whatever she wanted based on our preliminary discussions, presenting me with the final product which was NOT what I wanted at all. Then she expected me to pay her for it...and in order to get what I did actually want, I had to pay through the nose again. *sigh*)

I really do have to approach our Mystery Artist soon. I just have to get up the nerve. And the money. ;)
