once we were here, where we have lived since the world began, since time itself gave us this land...

This week in RL was marked by the strike of three out of four public transportation services in Berlin. Meaning: getting to work entailed a 20+ minutes walk to the nearest S-Bahn station, where the trains didn't exactly leave very punctually, and then a long wait for the emergency bus once I got to Wittenau, where I have to change from S-Bahn to Bus; and the bus leaves every 30 minutes. If I don't take it I can walk another maybe 25+ minutes to work. On top of that the first snowfall of this winter - yes, in March - fell on Wednesday, when the strike began. WTF! Where usually I need 45 minutes to work I now need 75.

On top of that, on Monday the last still-functioning public transportation service, the S-Bahn, will go on strike too. Errrrrm. I have actually almost no way of getting to work then. asdfghjk. I don't have a bike, and even if I had one it'd be too far. Though I'm kind of looking forward to the strike - if it happens - because it'd mean some days off from work. Yeeeha!

Anyway, yesterday it was my mother's birthday and we went out to a restaurant. I got very well fed and had some delicious meat - lamb. Of course today I feel like I haven't eaten since the world began. I'm just hungry all the time and keep eating and eating and eating without ever feeling like it's enough :(

ETA: Haha, no, not all is bad. I went shopping and it cheered me up muchly - I'm completely in love with a coat I bought. It's too cold here at the moment to wear it, though. I can't wait for spring!!!

Argh, I'm still praying that the S-Bahn doesn't go on strike. I'll freak out completely. I mean, I've got to get into town to pay for the bloody course and make a bank transfer to my dentist (which is overdue as of today) AND go to the course itself, which is taking place regardless of strikes. So, I'll likely have a 75min way to uni as well ... only I'll be walking all the fucking time *tears out hair* My feet consist of nothing but pain right now anyway after two nights of clubbing on heels since my flat boots broke some time ago ... *rants* Uh, sorry. That needed to be said. Let's just hope the S-Bahn doesn't strike (or, well, if you don't have to go to work when they're striking, of course that's sort of cool ^^ The BVG strike saved me from a dentist appointment, too)

On a separate note: I NEED TO GO SHOPPING!! I've neither got any flat boots, nor enough trousers, nor in fact pretty much any clothes at all >.> And funny you'd mention a coat, I badly need one for spring/autumn as well. So, whenever you're free again to go shopping with me (I always find the best stuff when I go with you, I swear *lol*), let me know! Oh, and if we can just meet up in the Sonntag some time next week, that'd be made of awesome as well ♥
