Just a heads-up that I'm buried in university applications - being sick again completely screwed up my schedule. Will be back on normal track as quickly as possible - on Saturday hopefully at the very latest.

Wish me luck that I'll get accepted this year!

*eyeroll at self* I've been more or less continuously sick since the beginning of the year, which, yes, too much. Fucks up my schedule way too much *glowers at immune system*

I've actually applied for English because I can't imagine not studying it - it's my absolute strength. If you looked at the grades with which I finished Gymnasium, you'd think my skills of conveying my thoughts were better in English than in German! ~~They totally are.~~ :D

I've no idea whether there'd be any kind of support regarding studying in another country. I probably should look that up too, since I'm already on that kind of stuff... *strokes chin thoughtfully*

I am better at English, too,now. Embarrassing, but true.

Nevertheless, there is the Erasmus program that might help, just in case. SDU Kolding has a brilliant English department - very small, very high quality. It's easy to find a place to live, and not too expensive. Jobs are okay and, since you speak both German and English, not hard to get.

EU has decided, as far as I know, that one is able to use any study support in other EU countries as well. Also, if one's grades are acceptable and one has the right levels, there is no selection process at SDU - everybody are allowed in. It has its advantages. I think 15th March is the last day one can apply, but I think every university can decide to let people in anyway, so it might be possible. (Also, in case it is relevant for you, I can go talk to our secretary, she's the one who decides anyway.

Ugh, I almost forgot that I have to do the application stuff again as well >.> Need to start by verifying my A-Levels on Monday and stuff ... and all in the heat ... so yeah, I hear you >.>
btw, what's your final plan of where to send the applications? And how are you doing generally? We totally need to catch up again soon ... if I can find time ... somewhere around here ...

I'm applying at Potsdam, where I think I have good chances of being admitted this year (Anglistik/Amerikanistik as major, Erziehungswissenschaften as minor, and I'll probably switch that around later), ZVS for psychology (HU and Potsdam, not that I have any chance) - those two are the ones I've finished because they had a May 31 deadline for Altabiturienten. Then HU, FU, Alice-Salomon-Fachhochschule and Evangelische Fachhochschule, but since all four of those have July 15 deadlines I have a little more time to look into exactly what might be possible for me and what not, so I haven't decided for sure yet for what I'm going to apply there. I want to have that stuff bagged in a week, though, so I won't have to worry about it over the course of the summer until the time for answers from the unis is rolling around.
