euro 2008: germany v. poland

Germany : Poland
     2 : 0

And it was by far the most exciting match of the Euro so far. I watched the match with [info]shiny_crystal - she all in black, with a red and a yellow belt around her hips that I purchased to show my support for Germany at the World Cup 2006 with my full body; I with my Germany t-shirt, a German flag-coloured thing for my neck, and a German flag. I wish I had a camera to take photos with! Anyway, we went to a bar where they showed the match, and it was so much fun - it was full, and everyone was cheering loudly. asdfghj. I was all spazzy and bouncy the whole time!

I have the luck of living in one of the most awesome areas of Berlin - Prenzlauer Berg - and, on top of that, very close to the Kulturbrauerei, where there is a huge public viewing area. I remember 2006; after every single one of Germany's matches there'd be loud, happy people running around, singing, and there'd be cars driving around, flags hanging everywhere, honking. It was awesome.

And now it's starting again :D

DEUTSCHLAND VOR!!! ♥

I was grinning like mad all the way home, I swear. That was such an impressive display and I'm, just, SO HAPPY we won :D It's vexing me like woah not being able to watch the first half, or more, of the game on Thursday, and my head's still not on best terms with me, but never mind. EURO 2008!! GERMANY FOR THE WIN!!! *bounces* *waves flag* *bounces some more*

Lol, the only people I came across were either shouting themselves hoarse or were pretty drunk, so I kind of refrained from talking to them *laughs* But I got home safely anyway.

Some friends of mine have been doing the usual 'Omg this sucked, they played soooo bad, they just got lucky!' (is this a Germany thing, I wonder, constantly being pessimistic?). Now, as far as I'm concerned, there was some pretty bad passing going on at the beginning, and the defence was cringe-worthy at times (are we surprised?), but I'm still of the opinion that they played WAY better than either Portugal or the Czech Republic.

Am looking forward to Romania, France, Italy and the Netherlands later today, ^_^

*bounce bounce bounce*

Bitte!

An interesting side-note - my brother just e-mailed me, & even he mentioned that Germany won in soccer!!!! And I'm so sports-oblivious, I had to double-check that it was soccer you were talking about!

That amuses me to no end :D But it's not like you're anywhere close to where the Euro is happening, so I definitely understand your obliviousness in that regard. (I doubt any European can be oblivious about the Euro, whether they want to be or not ;)

GO GERMANY!

O-M-G just WHAT the hell is wrong with Italy?!! I mean, srsly, their playing right now is made of such epic fail that I'm hardly believing my eyes. Before this game, I was wondering whom I should support in this since neither is that much of a choice for us *laughs* so I thought, just gimme a good game after that boring shit France and Romania pulled off, and now... THAT!! I'd never, never thought I'd ever say that but GO Netherlands!! *is more than surprised*

I've no idea either - I didn't watch a lot of France-Romania because I was so freaking beat, but what I did see didn't exactly wake me up. I didn't regret skipping that game when I heard the result :D

And Netherlands-Italy baffled me, too. I mean, okay, I think Italy would have deserved a 3:1, maybe, because they did have their chances, but seriously? You've got to be kidding me! GO NETHERLANDS!

You haven't missed a thing, I damn near fell asleep, myself. >.>

I believe they said it was the worst of Italy's defeats in a Euro, as in, ever. Loooool. I mean, normally, no German football fan would ever support the Netherlands, right? But it seems to me that after the World Cup, Italy has taken over that place *laughs* And OMG imagine those Netherlands against Germany! *bounces*

Right now, I'm skipping Russian on the actually quite accurate pretext that I'm too ill to do my full schedule. You've heard my coughing, you judge whether I'm right >.> On the definite upside, this means I can watch Russia-Spain. Wheeeee!!! This is going to be a conflict for me, though. I mean, I love Russia, so technically I should support them, even though I've never seen them play, on the other hand, being a Liverpool fan and all, I'm totally rooting for Spain's Torres. Oh well. I'll resort, once again, to saying, gimme a good game!
