After the match, all of Berlin was a huge party zone, partying, singing, drunk fans clogging the streets, blocking traffic and public transportation. It was... amazing. Our victory in Monday against Austria, a meagre 1:0, had been very disappointing, so to see us return in this manner and win against Portugal was... god. Just great.

[ETA: Just watched Croatia-Turkey, and holy cow, we're up against Turkey? Fucking hell. I'm scared of what'll happen on Wednesday at the semi final! Berlin has a huge Turkish community, so... Eep.]


Work: is making me unhappy. I don't like our four new people at all. I feel like they're looking down on me because I'm only 19, and sadly they aren't people of intelligence; that I feel kinda superior makes me feel bad, but I can't help it. They say stuff about things that are a) ignorant and b), in response, make me defensive about my own beliefs. I don't think they see me as someone who can actually have a somewhat informed conversation about any topic of importance, and that makes me both furious and self-conscious. Bah.

Boy am I ever glad this week is over.

We had:

- 1 almost-emotional break-down
- 1 strike of public transportation, resulting in my having to take a day off work
- 1 team meeting where I was told I'd get more tasks to do
- 2 days of having to deal with the kids mostly by myself, which, exhausting
- 1 phone call where my riding trainer told me I could not ride my pretty boy Peppo after all (what, this sounds vaguely dirty? I promise I'm not into bestiality!). Which now means I don't really have a horse for myself and will have to wait until someone needs a rider for his/her horse on a more permanent basis.
- and I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting some important things. (Edit: Yes, e.g. the fact that I did not sleep from Sunday to Monday, did not eat most of the day because OMG so much to do and drank way too much coffee. Which resulted in me shaking so badly I thought I'd pass out. What do we learn? There's the point where coffee becomes Too Much Coffee. Ugh.)

In short: do not pass Go, do not collect $200.

On the bright side I have been invited to join erotic_elves. Ha! *claps hands excitedly* Now to decide which of my het fics to post there to make myself known... Eep. Decisions, decisions. Sadly, this is the only good thing to happen to me ALL FUCKING WEEK.

I've written Snarry! A snarry_swap pinch-hit - A Thousand Years Spent Sleeping (R). This piece is so not what I normally write and I realise some things could have been better, but yeah, I can't help but feel a little pleased. Con-crit is very welcome, though :)

Apart from that I've reposted my smutty_claus and my snupin_santa stories and some fics/ficlets to envinyatar_fics. Among them my first Supernatural story.

It's interesting how much het I've written this year. Erm. Weirdness? *g*

Favorite story this year: Quiet (Hermione/Remus). It's my baby and I only let it go into the scary wide world half an hour ago (WAH!).
Best story this year: My snupin_santa, which still has its faults, but for the most part it says exactly what I want it to say. Also Shadows in Light and Dark (Narcissa-centric gen). It's not brilliant, but it is my personal canon and I worked really hard on it. In the end, I was very pleased by the result.
Most underappreciated by the universe: Heart Stops Beating (Narcissa/Severus). Once my beta told me it wasn't crap, I came to love this story very, very much.
Most fun story: Glaciers Melting in the Dead of Night (Sirius-centric gen). I love twisting Sirius around!
Sexiest story: Hmm, that's a hard one because I haven't concentrated on this aspect. I think it's Quiet.
"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you": Actually this is not applicable because OMG WHERE ARE THE BAD NON-CON STORIES OF 2007??? but I'll humour you. Red Destruction (Ginny/Ron), because it has non-con incest. It's nothing fancy, but I couldn't see myself writing incest before, so there you go.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: My smutty_claus story, most definitely. And Quiet, because it finally let me find my Remus.
Hardest story to write: My snupin_santa aside, it was definitely Shadows in Light and Dark (Narcissa-centric gen). Writing Narcissa's relationships to all those different characters was difficult, to say the least. Emotionally it was There Is Always Consolation (Remus-centric with some Snupin, about Sirius' death). That's my heart right there.
Biggest disappointment: In Your Reach (Bill/Severus), because it never quite came together the way I wanted it to.
Biggest surprise: Downward Spiral. I didn't think it was all that good, but the response to it has been amazing.
Story I want remembered: Quiet, because as I said above it's my baby.


ETA: Writing New Year's Resolutions!

- write all the freaking damn fic ideas in your three (!) writing notebooks and the half-finished drafts in your Google Docs! (esp.: Severus/Sirius fic that might span from Marauders era up to DH with canon-compliance; Hermione/Severus with twisted motivations; Charlie/Remus/Tonks fic that already has a sequel.)
- write all the goddamn meta in your head
- explore more kink (esp. of the wrong variety; too many stories of that kind are already in your notebook)
- indulge in new Supernatural obsession...
- ... and do not forget Harry Potter over it
- write more slash and gen, because Teh Het seems to be taking over your world
- control run-on sentences
- try to write plot
- work on dialogue
